A Perfect Ten

10 things from the past week that pretty much equate perfection:

1.   Butternut squash soup from Puck’s in the LA airport. I was so sad when it was all gone.  Only the possibility of missing my flight kept me from running back to terminal 6 from terminal 8 to get more.

2. Getting to spend time with kids, grandkids, parents, sibs, aunts, uncles and cousins, and share some special moments even though it was for my aunt's funeral. These are the times that strengthen families and help us remember what's most important in life.

3. A birthday celebration lunch with dear friends. The only downside was that not everyone was able to come -  but we still managed to have a lot of fun catching up.

4.  Jensen Harmon’s Christmas Party, held at the State Line. The food was great, the company was fun, and I didn’t have to do a thing as Teré from the Juarez office pulled it all together!
Partners: Javier, Carolyn & Keven

It's true that a bunch of bean counters can be a whole lot of fun!
 5. O, Christmas Tree! She’s a beauty, and now it smells like Christmas in our house!

6. Getting the nativities set up – so it’s finally starting to look like Christmas in our house!

The one that makes everyone laugh

7.   Saturday temps in the low 70’s, which we really appreciated after hearing about the sub-zero weather in many parts of the country.

8.   Sunday Morning Waffles!!!
It’s a process which Keven has perfected:
First he separate the eggs

And then he beats 'em up....
I can't give away any of his secrets, but this is what perfection looks like

Wait - why is he throwing them out the window???

Because he never forgets his buds out back
9.   Having tiny little Abie, dressed in her beautiful red velvet Christmas dress, sleep two full hours in my arms during church. Every once in a while she would let out soft sweet sighs.  Sigh.

10.   Getting a rare 2-hour nap after church. What can I say, Abie inspired me!

  1. I could use a refresher course on the secrets of the waffle. Hyuna and the boys would really appreaciate it. A youtube how-to video would be sufficient.
